"It is with much long awaited anticipation and excitement that I commend this "Friend Day" program to you. I am thrilled that Vernon Brady gave me an opportunity to participate in putting together this material.  I think that God will use it in a mighty way in putting evangelism back on the front burner in your church.  With 80% of our churches plateaued in America, we need to do all that we can to be faithful to the Great Commission, beginning right here in Jerusalem.

May God bless you mightily as you engage your community, and are challenged by this simple, strategic material that is in your hands."

We recently released a study at LifeWay Research (see www.lifewayresearch.com ) that showed a remarkable openness to spiritual conversations.  Among the unchurched, 89% somewhat or strongly agree with the statement "I have at least one close friend who considers himself  or herself a Christian."  The same group of unchurched, were asked, "If someone wanted to tell me what she or he believed about Christianity, I would be willing to listen."  Seventy eight percent agreed.  Yes, people are still open to spiritual conversations.  Vernon Brady and Elmer Towns provide a new tool to help start those conversations.  My Friendship Connection is a great tool to help churches involve their people in reaching their community for Christ."

"May I commend to you My Friendship Connection.  It is truly a God sent tool to encourage churches in the task of the Great Commission.  It is a simple, yet effective method to enlist the entire church body into evangelism and soul winning.  It is a nonthreatening way to involve the body of Christ.  I encourage you to give serious consideration to utilizing this tool in your church."

"Please allow this note to encourage you toward "My Friendship Connection" - I pray these materials will be a blessing, an encouragement, and help to you. My passion has always been for evangelism, the church and the people. This is a great program for your people to use to do Great Commission work by simply, personally, inviting your friends to church. It's urgent, we must be about our Father's business and that is winning souls. I pray this will bring us together with a single focus of evangelism. God bless you."

"I am excited about the opportunity God has given us at Green Street Baptist Church to utilize My Friendship Connection. Friends bring friends to Jesus!
I know that because when I was sixteen, one of my high school friends shared the gospel of Jesus Christ with me and I was gloriously saved. “My Friendship Connection” is not a gimmick or simply a promotional tool. This emphasis is an effort to mobilize a mighty army of God’s children to cooperatively reach multitudes with the gospel. Please join the ranks and let’s mobilize a massive effort to see people reached and lives changed."

"As an associational missionary, I encourage all of our churches and missions to participate with
My Friendship Connection for several reasons.  It is a simple, easy, effective, low-cost, timely, family-supporting, church-based, Kingdom-oriented means by which an entire congregation (regardless of size, growth pattern, or anything else) can be mobilized to do what every pastor probably wishes his folks would do all the time – but which only a few ever do.
The plan follows the pattern of growth used by the early church as it follows the natural network of relationships – the people whom we love, care for, live with, work with, and go to school with.  What could be more natural than inviting them to go to church on a special “friend day”?  The timing is great because the Growth Season in most churches, most years, is from the Sunday after Labor Day until the Sunday before Thanksgiving.  Intentional efforts during that time produce far greater results.
This plan does a wonderful thing for unchurched people.  They get an invitation from someone who cares about them; an opportunity to hear a Bible-based sermon when they attend; and an introduction to a Sunday School class or Small Group of people who will provide a nurturing environment for his spiritual journey"
