How One Boy's Basket Changed The World |

More than just another story! The record about the lad and his basket of bread and fish inspires all of us to recognize that even the simplest of offerings from us can be used by God to change the lives of the people we come in contact with everyday. With one simple invitation to the friend you see everyday you are allowing God to open your basket of bread and fish and use it BEYOND anything you can imagine. Remember the story:
One of the disciples—it was Andrew, brother to Simon Peter—said, "There's a little boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish. But that's a drop in the bucket for a crowd like this."
Jesus said, "Make the people sit down." There was a nice carpet of green grass in this place. They sat down, about five thousand of them. Then Jesus took the bread and, having given thanks, gave it to those who were seated. He did the same with the fish. All ate as much as they wanted...
When the people had eaten their fill, he said to his disciples, "Gather the leftovers so nothing is wasted." They went to work and filled twelve large baskets with leftovers from the five barley loaves. Right now, will you become like the lad and bring what you have to Jesus? For some it may be just one friend. While for others, it may be a several friends or whole families. As a pastor it will mean bringing your church to connect. Whatever you bring, God will use it. |
